Why Work With a Health Coach?
Pregnancy and postpartum come with more questions than answers. If you've spent any time scrolling social media for guidance, you already know the problem: everyone has an opinion, delivered with total confidence, and very little of it is actually grounded in research. Figuring out who to trust — and what's actually right for your body — can feel like a full-time job on top of everything else you're navigating.
This is exactly how I felt during my first pregnancy. So I started digging into the research and expert resources myself, looking for fact-based answers I could actually trust. That search is what led me to become passionate about helping other moms and moms-to-be filter through the noise, too.
There's so much about fertility, pregnancy, labor, and postpartum that's outside of your control. But understanding — and taking ownership of — the controllables that matter to you is empowerment (and there's in fact plenty you can control!). And that's exactly the goal of coaching.
The gap in standard care
Here's the thing most people don't realize until they're in it: your OB is (rightfully) focused on medically monitoring you and your baby. Day-to-day guidance on nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle simply isn't part of that visit. Most of the proactive advice you'll get stops at "take a prenatal vitamin" — but not all prenatal vitamins are created equal, and choosing the right one, at the right doses, is more nuanced than it looks on the label. That gap between medically cleared and actually optimized is exactly where coaching comes in.
Why this stage of life matters more than people realize
Pregnancy and postpartum are the most nutrient-demanding periods of a woman's life. But here's what's counterintuitive: your caloric needs don't rise nearly as much as your nutrient needs do. That means the density of what you eat matters more now than at almost any other point in your life.
It goes deeper than your own health, too. Through fetal programming and epigenetics, the habits and choices you make don't just affect you — they can influence gene expression in your child, and potentially their children. It's a powerful reminder that small, daily choices may carry more weight than they seem to in the moment. The good news? You can positively influence your own and your baby's health through simple actions and lifestyle changes, no matter where you're starting from.
Movement raises its own set of questions. What's safe? What should I focus on? These come up constantly during pregnancy. And contrary to popular belief, the standard "green light" to jump back into full workouts at 6 weeks postpartum may not be the right guidance for everyone — your body is still healing and has changed significantly, and following a generic timeline without individualized guidance can set you up for longer-term injury or pelvic floor dysfunction.
And then there's simply keeping a newborn alive — which, on its own, is a full-time job. Layering the goal of optimizing your health on top of sleep deprivation and a completely upended routine is genuinely hard to do alone. The right support helps you adjust your habits and expectations to fit this new reality, rather than trying to force your old routine back on top of it.
Why start early
Pregnancy and postpartum life is overwhelming, and asking for help isn't a sign of weakness — it's smart. Building a strong foundation of healthy habits early, even before conception, sets you up for a smoother pregnancy and postpartum period than trying to course-correct later. But wherever you're starting from, coaching meets you there — and progress is always possible.
What working with a coach actually gives you
A filter for the noise — research-backed, transparent guidance instead of guesswork
Personalized targets, like the specific nutrients and dosages shown to help minimize complication risk for both you and baby, ensure optimal growth and development for baby, and support recovery and repletion for you
Recommendations and goal-setting that meet you where you are. This isn't one-size-fits-all — you're in the driver's seat, and I'm here to guide based on what the research actually says
Guidance for your partner too — knowing what to expect and how to help during labor and postpartum isn't intuitive. The right support means less guesswork for them, more real support for you and baby, and a smoother, more harmonious transition into your new parenting world
Genuine support from someone who's been through it — I know what it's like. Moms need support during a season when they're giving so much and have so little time left for themselves
Let's build your foundation together
Everything in this practice is research-backed and transparent — no guesswork, no trends, no noise. If you're ready for guidance built around your body and your life, let's talk.
